In reading, students identified who the speaker is at different points in a story. Students practiced this skill after reading Cinderella and Drakestail, and then completed an assessment after reading Olive, My Love.
In math, students learned to solve equations with three addends. Students analyzed the three components and isolated the two parts that add up to 10. Students practiced this skill by creating three separate groups using pattern blocks and drawing a circle around the two parts that make a 10.
In science, students studied whether solids can be rolled or stacked. Students also categorized solids according to their softness and hardness. Finally, students tested if their solids could sink or float!
On Thursday we had our Valentine's Day party! Students exchanged cards and treats, and then made handmade cards for their families.
